Strong winds ahead of a severe-warned storm on March 8, 2017 in Halfmoon, New York.
Video Field Notes | February 18, 2017
It's warm here in Upstate New York. Like really warm. Right now, it's 51 degrees. This entire week is forecast to be well above average. The warm, fair weather creates the perfect conditions to capture a sunset over a frozen body of water. Meltwater creates the perfect mirror to reflect the color of the day's last light. Winter is coming to an end and storm season is coming. Last night was only a beautiful reminder.
Happy 2017!

Video Field Notes | Iceland
Iceland is the size of Ohio, but it feels vast and wild. it The landscape is more like a playground for giants. Huge rock formations and creeping blue glaciers exist in the south with only a few roads to access them. And the farmhouses and hotels that do exist out there seem even smaller in the empty spaces. The nights are heavy with zero light pollution.
A week along the coast was an eduction. The weather there is stronger and faster than anything we had encountered before. Our third day was spent in a severe gale from which we had to take shelter in a hotel at the foot of the Svínafellsjökull Glacier. But our time on the glacier was worth any amount of travel or logistical challenge.
Footage is being reviewed and complied and more content will be available soon. -Bulmer

This is a simple document of the day in the life of Geyser Creek is Spa State Park in Saratoga Springs, New York. The park is a treasure, especially on foggy late-summer-almost-fall mornings.
Video Field Notes | September 17, 2016
September is here, and with its arrival, the cold morning and warm afternoons that mark the end of summer. As a photographer and filmmaker, this is my favorite time of year, probably because the days are a limited edition. The fall is fleeting, only a few weeks. The urgency to get out and experience in enhanced by the feeling that soon, all the color will be gone from the landscape.
Video Field Notes | September 8, 2016
Footage form various locations around the Northeast, New York, and New Jersey. Late summer sunlight stitches all these clips together. Summer fading is one of the most visually stunning times of the year in Upstate New York. The color at sunset always seems just a little deeper. The conditions produced by cool mornings and warm afternoons are so beautiful because they are a limited edition, soon to be replaced my the equally beautiful but monotone color palette of winter.

B roll from a busy July in Upstate New York. Deep summer is my favorite time of the year, by far. August and September in New England make enduring the cold and gray months of January and February worth it. This Video Field Note spans from the city to the countryside all painted in the light of a late summer sunset.
Mammals | July 23, 2016
Impressive Mammatus formation on the underside of a cumulonimbus in Halfmoon, New York on July 23, 2016.
About Mammatus Clouds: Cumulonimbus, from the Latin cumulus ("heap") and nimbus ("rainstorm", "storm cloud"), is a dense towering vertical cloud [1] associated with thunderstorms and atmospheric instability, forming from water vapor carried by powerful upward air currents. If observed during a storm, these clouds may be referred to as thunderheads. Cumulonimbus can form alone, in clusters, or along cold front squall lines. These clouds are capable of producing lightning and other dangerous severe weather, such as tornadoes. Cumulonimbus progress from overdeveloped cumulus congestus cloudsand may further develop as part of a supercell. Cumulonimbus is abbreviated Cb and are designated in the D2 family. [via Wikipedia]

Video Field Notes | Long Hot Summer
The past few weeks have been painful to watch through the lens the 24 hour news cycle and through the statuses of friends on social media. I'm not going to claim I know what it's like to be either be black in America or a member of law enforcement. I just hope that our nation can find some middle ground and heal. What I do know is that I am against unjustified killings of anyone regardless of race or chosen profession. We are all Americans and need to remember we are tied to one another. Commonalitles are more important than differences.
